Baby frowns are so cute
I love my little boys smiles(still can’t catch a proper one on film!) but you know what - I just love his frowns to too. He just look so darn serious, it’s too cute for words. Well I think so anway
So the 30 day challenge is going well lol it should be it’s only been 3 days and today is scheduled as a rest day. I sure need it, I can’t believe what a workout it gives you. Yesterdays was harder than the first one. It included some side lunges which annoyed me like crazy because the Wii wasn’t quite picking up my movements and kept getting an error. The tennis practices were fun though
Eating….meh. Once I’ve finished blogging here I intend to go and make a rough plan of meals for the week. It’s the only way I can think that I can keep on top of this healthy eating malarky as well as dealing with William and numerous other tasks I have to complete daily.
Oh and on a sidenote. Week Two of WIMBLEDON starts tomorrow! GO MURRAY GO!!
30 Day Challenge
Today Matt bought me EA Sports Active for the Wii. It’s kind of like Wii fit but with more structure. As part of the game it offers you a 30 day challenge, to compete 5 workouts each week for 30 days. I’ve decided to use that as it is a small obtainable target. I’m currently using the easiest setting as my fitness level is zero and I have to say after doing my first workout today for a Wii game I’m surprised what a great workout it gives you (Matt did one as well at a higher level and he agreed it gave a good workout!!). There are lots of different things wal/run/jog, boxing, inline skating, lunges, squats, bicep curls and shoulder raises were what appeared on my workout today. It says tomorrows will look at tennis drills
which suits me, I love tennis. The good thing about my workout is that it ony takes 20 minutes which is easy to fit in even with William around. Plus William and I manage to pack in a few miles walking to add to my daily calorie burn. Now I’ve sorted exercise I just need to do some stern talking and planning for my meals!
Odd ways to sleep no 1
William sure likes to sleep in some odd positions! Isn’t he getting big now? Can’t even remember how dinky he was when he came home from the hospital. He is wearing 0-3 month clothing all the time and we add some 3-6 months clothing in as well. He’s only 7 weeks old lol and alreayd wearing the next size up. He is now able to roll himself over from stomach to back on purpose, he hates tummy time so I think he learnt to do it because of that. He CAN lift his head when on his tummy but he doesn’t seem to find that the most amusing activity around. He is starting to make “ooooh” and “ahhhh” noises too which as his mummy I find the cutest thing. And most importantly for today
we have proper smiles!! Now to capture one on camera.
Losin weight - meh! Got sidetracked somewhere last week. I had to go for a repeat diabetes test and for three days prior to that they had me eat a load of carbs etc. so I went over the top and never reined myself in *sighs* ah well. Starting again today, just got to keep plugging away I guess. I’ll get there. Think I might start logging my food and exercise on here somewhere. I’m still getting in a good bit of walking with William and the heavier he gets the harder it gets to push him around lol. The pushchair is just so darn heavy all by itself. ON a good note the gestational diabetes is gone so I don’t have to worry about that anymore, unless I get pregnant again when it will come back.
Happy Fathers Day
Happy 1st Fathers Day Daddy
Lots of Love

Here is William displaying a present from Aunty Tamra and the American Cousins. Now I know loads of babies in the US probably own this outfit but it’s pretty cool thinking that William is if not the only one of the few babies in the UK who has it. It’s so cute
has a pair of brown trousers too but it was so warm on this day I don’t think he stayed in this long before we stripped him down to his nappy and let him have at it lol. Poor Will hates the heat so it’s nice that the weather has cooled.
Will has not been having good days at the moment, especially in the morning and evening but I think we found a cure to the morning blues for him. 7am bottle, top and tail, clean nappy, dress and in the to the pushchair for his morning walk. Did that this morning and he’s been asleep since 9am
yey! His nights are getting a little better and he is regularly getting at least one 4 hour stretch in there. Bliss.
Today we have bumps to babies group. I’m really looking forward to going, it’s so nice to be out of the house and meeting other mothers. Hopefully Wills will decide to wake up for a bit of it this week
On the weightloss front, had a bad couple of days with *shhhhh* chocolater and chinese food but today I got right back to tracking my points and making healthier choices. ONe bad day won’t make a difference, it’s when you carry those bad days on.
William meets his Uncle Dave
William met his Uncle Dave (my brother) for the first time on Wednesday. Dave was very taken with him, I can’t speak for William.
Wills is a bit grumpy today, I think he has a bit of a tummy ache so once that goes I’m sure he’ll be back to his usual laid back self. I just wish his laid back self would sleep from 3- 6 am instead of 3 - 4:45. He usually makes 3 hours between feeds - he darn well should when he downs 5oz at a time but he keeps waking at around 4am regardless. I’m wondering if it’s the morning sun waking him, he only has white blinds in his nursery and it gets very bright in there the moment the sun comes up. So I’ve ordered some curtains and a pair of black out blinds, we’ll see how that goes. Fingers crossed we can get him through to 6am. Bliss.
On the weight loss front the weight watchers diet is going well for me so far
I ate a little more than I should have yesterday as we had our friend babysit and went out for a meal but I’ve exercised so much this week that it more than made up for it. So fingers crossed for a fairly respectable loss this coming Monday. I’m finding not over eating fairly easy at the moment, I think because I have so much to distract me and stop me from mindless eating.
I finally caved today and asked Matt to pick me up a pair of jeans on his way home. I had a couple of pairs pre pregnancy, the one slightly loser than the other, I can now get back in to the looser pair but they have holes in grrrrr so are no good. The other pair - well I’m going to need to lose some more weight first. So for the last 4 weeks I’ve been licing in jogging bottoms which I HATE. Jogging bottoms for me are for being in the house or exercising. When I got out and about I like my jeans. So I’ve asked him to pick me up one larger sized pair just for when I go shopping in town etc. I don’t want anymore pairs because a) it’ll be a waste of money and b) I don’t want any excuses to delay this weightloss.
Bumps to Babies
Here is William taking a nap at his first every Bumps to Babies group, in fact he slept through the whole thing on a beanbag. I might get him his own little beanbag he loved it that much. So while William didn’t get anything other than a good sleep from his group I really enjoyed meeting other mums and being out of the house. I think we’ll go again next week. Plus it’s a good old walk to the child centre where it takes place. My legs hurt lol.
I started counting my weightwatchers points today. Isn’t it silly, I’ve eaten today as much as I have other days but I am starving hungry, maybe it’s the extra walking that’s done it, or it’s all in the mind. The plus side of the warmer weather is that I’m really in the mood for salads at the moment so that’s what I’m going to have for my evening meal. We have some really nice deli meats which I’m going to have with it. Yummy.
What the….?
I just love this picture of Wills. It’s his classic “what the hell are you doing to me woman!!” face. Oh and that’s his grandma (matts mum) who’s holding him. Wills has been BAD today. BAD. I don’t really know what’s up with him but I suspect it’s the heat. It’s really warm over here at the moment and he’s just a naturally hot hot boy so any increase in heat is bad for him. I feel awful that I can’t do much but the crying is really starting to get at me. Luckily he’s just taken a nice big feed and settled down in his moses basket. I think he’s just worn himself out. Poor lad.
So…on to other news. IncreasingDebbie will be changing back to DecreasingDebbie as of tomorrow. I signed up to weighwatchers online today, cheaper and easier than attending slimming world right now, as weightwatchers has a good offer on for 3 month membership. I’ve used it before with success and I love the online tools. I think I will need to plan my meals somewhat in advance otherwise I’m going to end up grabbing whatever is at hand when Mr Wills is quiet. Not the best way of going about weightloss. The great thing about Will being fussy is that the best way to sooth him is to strap him in to his pushchair and take him for a walk. He just loves it and it has only failed once to put him straight off to sleep. I also love being out and about with him, the sunshine and freshair is lovely and it’s great to be out of the house - so I’ve already got my exercise sorted, at least for now. I’m still taking it fairly easy and not over straining because of the C-section - I’ll wait for the doctors all clear before I do anymore. However today I’ve already fitted in about 1.5 - 2 miles walk. Not huge but some.
So, it’s weightloss time
mummy and me
Here is me and William, both of us feeling a little bit tired and fed up lol. Poor Will. He gets over stimulated a little too easily for my liking. He REFUSES to sleep while there are things, or most importantly people, to look at and listen too. Once he’s asleep he’ll sleep through anything but getting him to that stage when there is any sort of activity going on is almost impossible.
Friday night was bad. We travelled up to Derby in the evening and William slept right through the trip, including his “awake time”. So he decided to take his awake time later, as in from midnight till 2am. He then woke at 3.30am for a feed and 5.30am and then stayed awake. In the end I got up with him at seven and let Matt get a lie in and we had some mummy and William time downstairs. He’s grandparents have bought him a new bouncy chair and he loves it. Then we did some shopping in the morning, most of which he slept through because he was strapped to my chest in his sling. Oh I love the sling.
Saturday afternoon and evening were lovely as Matts parents took over. They took him out in the afternoon when they went to Chesterfield and then babysat him in the evening while me and Matt saw Angels and Demons. More on what I thought of that film later.
Today he has been fussy and then his great grandparents came over, his uncle Liam and then for some reason matts mum called in some next door neighbour but one to see him as well. It was just too many people for my little man to deal with. Add to that the fact that he was WAY too hot (he deals with heat even worse than me!) and well…..one very grumpy boy.
We are home now and he is snoozing in his moses basket. His feeds are all out today so lord knows when he will wake for the next. Sometime soonish I would think. Hopefully he’ll settle down for the night after that. We shall see.
Kissers
William looking rather less than impressed by his mama kissing him. Matt took this photo this morning when Wills was having a bit of a grump. Finally worked out in the end he wanted an extra ounce of his formula and then he zonked right out to sleep. He woke at 11 for a feed and went back down again at 11:45 and is still asleep now. I think he’s worn out from all the visiting we did yesterday. I got loads of cute pictures of him with my friends but I don’t really feel comfortable posting them on here as it’s obviously available for anyone too see and I won’t post photos of other peoples children without their permission. I wouldn’t want them posting photos of Will that I didn’t know about.
This weekend we are going up to Derby to spend the weekend with Matts mum and dad. I’m sure Matts grandparents will want to come around and see William as last time we were up there Matts grandma was poorly and only got to see William for about 30 minutes.
So I have decided, next Thursday I am going to go to my local Slimming World meeting and get this weightloss going again. I’ve had my “fun” lol of eating whatever I want but it’s got to stp. I have jeans to get back in to and then hopefully shrink back out of
So until Matt sorts our Wills domain this blog will be part weight loss, part William. I hope you don’t mind!
